'American Housewife' Season 1 Episode 18 Spoilers: More Challenges Coming for the Ottos as 23-Episode First Season Continues
The previous episode of "American Housewife" may not have fixed and sealed Viv (Leslie Bib) and Alan's (Jay Mohr) fractured marriage with the proverbial kiss, but it sure did well ensuring that Katie (Katy Mixon) and Greg's (Diedrich Bader) relationship will always remain intact. And now that Viv has decided to move on and move out of Anna-Kat's room (Julia Butters), what other challenges are coming next for the Otto household?
The latest information about next week's schedule indicates that "American Housewife" will be featuring a back-to-back rebroadcast of two old episodes titled "Surprise," and "The Man Date," which originally aired on Jan. 17 and Feb. 21, respectively. No information has been released about the upcoming 18th episode yet.
ABC has ordered the show's first season to a full 23-episode run, and after Katie finally gave Viv the hug she has been longing for since episode 11, is her thin and wealthy friend set for more appearances in future episodes? Viv will definitely need all the support she can get, especially now that she's about to divorce her husband. And she can very well draw strength and inspiration from the Otto's relationship in choosing the best direction, and eventually the best man, for herself.

And Katie may be a meddling "pain in the ass," but she is also nothing but a good and supportive friend. Being there for Viv may not be easy, but she will be there nonetheless.
Another potential conflict that was featured in the previous episode was Greg's disciplinary ways. He may have seemed too soft to get his older kids, Taylor (Meg Donnelly) and Oliver (Daniel DiMaggio), to abide by his rules, but in the end, he proved that he can also be a sly and effective disciplinarian. But since it took so much effort just to get Taylor and Oliver to close the drawers and cabinet doors in the kitchen area, can Greg's brand of creative discipline really keep his kids in line in the long run?
