'American Idol' Reboot News, Updates: Sunday and Monday Night Airing Planned Amid Delay Rumors?

The "American Idol" reboot will likely air on Sunday and Monday nights when it returns on ABC in the spring. The network has not officially announced the time schedule but advertisers have reportedly been offered 30-second spots for the said nights.

According to AdAge, media buyers are taking $200,000 spots for "American Idol" for Sunday and Monday nights. The rate is lower than the show's previous ad prices when it aired on FOX for 15 seasons.

Curiously, Sunday nights mean that the "American Idol" reboot performance shows won't have much competition from other reality programs. The following night's results show, however, will be up against the spring season run of "The Voice" on NBC.

Incidentally, the first winner of "American Idol," Kelly Clarkson, will be sitting in the judges' panel of "The Voice" in March. It's the reason why the reboot producers weren't able to get her as judge when they asked the Grammy winner.

"I was kind of bummed too when [Idol] came to me," Clarkson told Entertainment Weekly. "I hope it's super successful."

Reports, however, stated that the "American Idol" reboot is still having trouble completing its judges' panel. Luke Bryant allegedly can't agree to the fee ABC is offering while Keith Urban, who was a judge for two seasons on FOX, confirmed he will not be back on the show.

So far, Katy Perry is the only confirmed judge of the "American Idol" reboot while Ryan Seacrest is the lone star from the original run who will be back as host.

Auditions are already happening across the country but filming in front of the judges hasn't happened. A potential delay in the show's production with the judges at the auditions also looms since Perry started her world tour in Canada last Sept. 19.

The "American Idol" reboot on ABC comes nearly two years after the show bowed out of television. Some network executives said that it might be premature to bring back the contest too soon after it ended on FOX.
