'American Idol' Season 15 News: The Auditions for Season 15 Finally End
The last audition episode of "American Idol" aired last Thursday night, and the show's farewell season will now move forward to the dreaded Hollywood Week.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the last episode showed talents auditioning from Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Atlanta. During the judges' confessional in the episode, all of them said that they feel sorry for the contestants that did not go through. They said that it breaks their hearts that they cannot say the words, "come back next year," anymore, since "American Idol" season 15 will be the last.
Meanwhile, the judges picked several talented musicians among those who've auditioned, and they are Jessica Cabral, Brian Dale Brown, Melanie Huber, Rachel Karryn, Caroline Byrne, Bianca Eslinal, and Chynna Sherrod. One contestant, Lillian Glanton, made the judges vote differently after hearing her original song "Country Boyfriend." Harry Connick Jr. voted no, while Keith Urban said yes. Jennifer Lopez was left with the deciding vote, and finally agreed with Keith to send Lillian to Hollywood.
The next contestants didn't disappoint as well, and it seems that the judges are already running out of golden tickets. Among those who will return next week in the Hollywood Week round are Kacye Haynes, Zac Person, Colette Lush, Avalon Young, Usen Isong, Jaci Butler, and Stephany Negrete.
The final audition of the night, or the series ever, was by Manny Torres, who is also Puerto Rican like Jennifer. The other judges also loved his voice, and he is officially the last golden ticket owner in "American Idol" history.
Meanwhile, several spoilers about the Hollywood Week, which happened last November at the Dolby Theater in L.A., had surfaced. MJsBigBlog also revealed that the Showcase round will be back this season. The website said that there will be two days of Round One solos, followed by the dread Group performances the next day. After the Group Round, the remaining contestants will move on to the Final solos, and those who stay will be given the chance to perform for the Showcase round.
Watch "American Idol" every Wednesday and Thursday on Fox.
