Amy Brumfield has Criminal Past
An "American Idol" contest, that impressed the panel of judges with her recent audition, has a criminal past that may hinder her progression and chances through the show.
Amy Brumfield, 24, has the tangibles that make her a real contender for becoming the winner of "American Idol." But it is her past that has viewers speculating on exactly how far she might make it in the competition.
Her story can be an inspiration to others who have fallen on hard times. Brumfield, as she explained on the show currently lives in a tent because she cannot afford a place of her own. While she may get compassion for her current situation her prior arrests in 2005, 2007, and 2010 cast a dubious light.
According to police reports that were obtained by TMZ Brumfield was arrested in 2005 and was charged with criminally trespassing on private property. The events surrounding the arrest are not clear and require further verification.
In 2007, she was arrested twice. The first arrest was for unlawful detainer, which means she occupied private property although the lease had expired. The second arrest that year was for drinking while underage. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation.
On August 13, 2010, Brumfield, was arrested in front of the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen, which is outside of Knoxville, after police officers stated that she showed signs of "extreme intoxication" while she was "trying to find someone to take her home," according to reports.
Then just nine days later on Aug. 22, Brumfield was so intoxicated that she urinated on herself at a local Baskin Robbins. She was subsequently arrested and charged.
Despite her issues and troubled past, Brumfield has a chance if she keeps focused and avoids consuming alcohol to go deep into the competition. Then she would have an opportunity to become the next "American Idol."
