Amy Winehouse Father to Write Book and Donate Proceeds

Father of the late Amy Winehouse, Mitch Winehouse, is beginning to write a book about the life of his famous daughter, and is promising to donate all proceeds to a foundation he set up under her name.

Harper Collins made an announcement on Monday saying that Mitch Winehouse will be calling the book "Amy, My Daughter in The United States and Britain," and that they had just signed a deal to publish the book.

The book will shed light on some of the best and darkest moments of the deceased singer’s life. Slated for release to book in summer 2012, Harper Collins revealed Mitch will also speak about Amy as a young girl growing up when she got signed. It will also cover Winehouse’s struggle with substance abuse.

All proceeds for "Amy, My Daughter" will be donated to The Amy Winehouse Foundation that Mitch Winehouse created immediately when the singer died in July at the age of 27.

Amy Winehouse is currently featured on Tony Bennet's No. one hit “Duets II” where she performs with him on the track "Body and Soul."

It was the singer’s last recording before her death.

Bennet was recently on "The Today Show with Jon Stewart" where he revealed he felt Amy knew she was going to die.

"Well she was in trouble at that time because she had a couple of engagements that she didn't keep up," Bennett told Stewart referring to Winehouse.

He continued "But what people didn't realize at that time, that she really knew – in fact, I didn't even know it when we were making the record, now looking at the whole thing – she knew that she was in a lot of trouble, that she wasn't gonna live. And it wasn't the drugs. it was alcohol, toward the end, you know."

Bennett said of Winehouse: “...She was a great jazz-pop singer. She was a great jazz singer. A true jazz singer."
