Amy's Baking Company Selling Apparel With Phrases From 'Kitchen Nightmares'
Amy's Baking Company owners Amy and Samy Bouzaglo are venturing into a new business venture tied to their restaurant and their time on "Kitchen Nightmares." The infamous duo is offering T-shirts and hats with sayings taken from their episode of Gordon Ramsay's reality show.
Among the items are T-shirts with the sayings, "I Speak Feline MEOW!" and "I'm the gangster!" The phrases were taken from the couple's time on "Kitchen Nightmares," during which they made a very memorable impression on chef Gordon Ramsay and American audiences.
The couple has maintained that the show completely misrepresented them and the work that they do in Arizona. Both Samy and Amy took to Twitter, Yelp, and Facebook to try and save face after the episode aired and showed a side of them that they did not want shown to the public. Now, though, it appears as if they are using their bad reputation to spin things in their favor and perhaps make a profit.
"Here's your pizza, go [expletive] yourself!" reads another T-shirt, while the last humorously declares, "I survived Amy's Baking Company." All of the products are available on Amy's Baking Company website, where the Bouzaglos state that 10 percent of the proceeds from their apparel will be donated to the families of the fallen Hotshot firefighters.
"The firefighters were young men with wives, children, and a bright future ahead of them. We are devastated by their loss. We humbly thank them for the sacrifice that they made to protect us and keep us all safe," the website states.
"We're making cherry lemonade out of lemons," Amy Bouzaglo told Radar Online. "Never in my life would I have thought the show would launch us into this kind of stratosphere."
The show was one of the most-watched episodes of "Kitchen Nightmares," which has certainly seen its share of characters. Ramsay hosts the show, which tries to help failing restaurants, and will be back for another season next year.
