Android 4.1, JellyBean Update Schedule for Sony Devices Coming This Month
The Android 4.1, JellyBean update schedule for Sony's Xperia smartphone line-up will be released sometime this month.
Sony announced the news on its Twitter account earlier this week.
"Hey-s/w update is ICS firmware for Xperia U," tweeted Sony Xperia News. "Official update on JellyBean plans in mid-December at blogs.sonymobile.com."

This basically states that Sony will make its major announcement concerning the JellyBean updates on its Xperia line sometime before the beginning of 2013.
While Sony is working on making the Android 4.1 update available, other smartphone makers such as HTC are releasing devices with the software pre-installed.
HTC's new Droid DNA was released on Verizon last month and comes running Android 4.1, JellyBean.
The handset features the first of its kind 5-inch 1080p SuperLCD3 display and is powered by the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with a 1.5GHz quad-core Krait processor. It also features Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB RAM.
.It was unveiled by Verizon earlier this month and customers were able to purchase the handset from the carrier for $200 with a new 2-year agreement starting yesterday.
The smartphone was introduced to the public on a Google+ Hangout and in order to be invited, users had to add Verizon Wireless to their circle on Google+.
"Experience the newest DROID before its public launch," wrote Verizon on its webpage. "Add Verizon Wireless to a circle on Google+ for an exclusive invite to our Hangout on Air Unboxing Event."
This new device will probably be HTC's most impressive smartphone offering since the One X, which launched earlier this year.
That handset is still just receiving the Android 4.1, JellyBean update in certain parts of the globe.
The device's web browser is now a lot faster than it was, as the new software allows it to fully utilize its quad-core processor.
