Android 4.4, KitKit Release Date Set for This Month, Downloads Interface to be Redesigned
The Android 4.4, KitKat release date is expected to be later on this month.
The software will launch alongside the new Nexus 5 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet. There are also rumors that state that Google is working on other devices aside from these two.
A new report from Android Police regarding Android 4.4 KitKat points to the downloads' interface being completely updated on the software.

The publication claims that the screen will move from Holo Dark to Holo Light and the app will receive a much cleaner icon. There will also be a "proper action bar" added along with a Sort button to make "a jump from the bottom of the screen to the top."
The new Downloads UI should be available with Android 4.4, KitKat when it is finally released by Google.
Screenshots allegedly taken from the Android 4.4, KitKat update surfaced on the web last week.
The pictures were posted by the site Gadget Helpline and show a device running the software as its old internal name, Key Lime Pie.
The About Phone section screen in the pictures shows that the device, which happens to be a Nexus 4, is running Key Lime Pie version KRS65B. The Hammerhead codename that has been seen in Nexus 5-related leaks also makes an appearance there.
Changes made to Android can be seen in other photos including the notifications icons which will now be white instead of blue. The dialer app has also been changed as blacks are less prominent and a nice air of bright white has been added to lighten things up.
The software operates faster and animations have become smoother, according to the publication.
In terms of features, a new Settings menu has been added that includes a printing option. Payments and Wireless display are now included in the menu along with a Manage Mobile plan.
