Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie Rumors: Nexus Smartphone to Be Launched by Motorola
The new Nexus device that will run Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie will be launched by Motorola, according to recently leaked specifications.
The smartphone will debut the next version of Android known as 5.0, Key Lime Pie. The device is expected to make its debut at this year's Google I/O.
Androidworld.nl received information on the specifications for the upcoming device. However, the site claims to have two conflicting sources, so nothing should be taken as official at this point. These rumored specs include either a 4.7-inch Full HD display, or 5-inch bezel-less display. The device will also come with a NVIDIA Tegra 4i processor, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, eye tracking technology for scrolling and email reading, and a 7.9mm thick casing.

9to5Google doesn't appear to be sold on these specifications for this Google device based on what Larry Page told the site in a conference call. Page stated that Google's goal with this device is to have it withstand drops and have long battery life. These rumored specs do not line up with those expectations.
The first reports of this smartphone surfaced back in January, when a job listing for project manager for a device called the X-Phone was discovered on Motorola's web site. The listing was removed a few minutes after it was posted, but its existence confirmed that Motorola and Google were collaborating on some kind of smartphone.
Google normally launches a new Nexus flagship device each year. In 2011, the company released the Galaxy Nexus with Samsung and in 2012 launched the Nexus 4 with LG. Both of these devices impressed critics and ran Android at an optimum level.
A Motorola-Google collaboration would be more profitable as Google currently owns the smartphone and gadget manufacturer.
