After months of waiting, it looks like the Android Nougat has finally found its way to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Users in India and Canada who own the last-generation Samsung flagship should be able to update to Android Nougat, as per Sammobile.

Canadian users who are subscribers of SaskTel, Bell, Virgin Mobile, Eastland, Wind Mobile and Freedom Mobile should be receiving the Android Nougat update for their Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at this time.

The update is at a whopping 1.3 GB so users would want to make sure they have a stable internet connection before they start the process to successfully download Android Nougat.

Additionally, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users should juice up their phone to at least 50-percent so that their Android Nougat transition will not be interrupted as this could result in some dire issues.

Those who have not been notified of the update are advised to be patient and wait a little longer. While the carriers are currently rolling the Android Nougat update, it might take a while to reach every user. Either way, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users could count on the update's arrival sooner rather than later.

Users who want to be able to move to Android Nougat as soon as possible but have not received the notification for the download and installation process can check the update manually.

As for those under Rogers, which stands as one of the largest mobile carriers in Canada, the Android Nougat update for the Samsung handsets will arrive on Monday, March 20.

Android Nougat brings exciting new features to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. While there is not a lot of change on the aesthetic side, it does introduce a new UX while adding Samsung Pass, a new Quick Panel and Samsung Cloud.

The Android update also comes with an improved notification function and the newfound ability for users to easily resize the windows in the split-screen view.
