Android 7.0 Nougat Update Could Be Released Soon for Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Variants
Android 7.0 Nougat update already being rolled out to newer Samsung Galaxy devices
The Android 7.0 Nougat update is reaching more Samsung Galaxy devices, and it could also soon be made available for those older units released back in 2015.
In a recent report, Sam Mobile revealed that carrier variants of Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 have apparently received Wi-Fi certification with the Nougat operating system onboard.
This is a significant development mainly because it seems to hint that Samsung could be ready to roll out the OS update for the Note 5 sometime within the next few weeks, as the website added.

It's worth noting, however, that even if the folks over at Samsung are able to have the Nougat update ready within the next few weeks, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be released for consumer-owned units within the same timeframe.
Carriers will still be the ones who will make these OS updates available to their subscribers, so device owners will have to check in with them for more specific release dates.
A specific segment of T-Mobile's support site lists the different devices expected to get the Nougat update, and among those listed is indeed the Galaxy Note 5. At this point though, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is still in the "Manufacturer Development" phase for the Note 5, hinting again that it may not be made widely available just yet.
Along with the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge as well as the S6 Edge+ are also expected to get the Nougat update sometime soon.
They are currently in the same boat as the Galaxy Note 5, at least when it comes to T-Mobile, with the Nougat update for those S6 variants also still listed to be in the "Manufacturer Development" stage.
