Andy Samberg, Joanna Newsom Engaged

A representative for Andy Samberg, alum of the NBC sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live," recently confirmed that the comedian is engaged to his girlfriend of five years Joanna Newsom, a singer/songwriter.

Samberg's representative reportedly notified multiple media outlets earlier on Monday that the two were planning to tie the knot.

Although the couple has been dating for five years, a friend of Newsom previously told Us Weekly that Samberg long adored his fiancee before they had met.

"He liked her music and would go to her shows," a friend of Newsom told Us Weekly last year.

"He had the biggest crush on her," the source added.

The couple was recently spotted attending the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday in West Hollywood, Calif.

The night before, Samberg hosted the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards, held in Santa Monica, Calif.

Newsom was reportedly spotted wearing an engagement ring at Saturday's awards ceremony.

Samberg and Newsom have reportedly kept their relationship out of the public eye, preferring to stay at home instead of venturing into the highly-publicized celebrity party scene.

E! News predicts that most likely, musician Justin Timberlake and his new wife, Jessica Biel, will be invited to the wedding, as Timberlake and Samberg have previously collaborated on SNL sketches and have become good friends since.

Timberlake and Biel were married in Italy in October 2012.

Samberg, 34, has made a name for himself as a former cast member on the sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live," as well as creating SNL digital shorts through his comedy group The Lonely Island.

Newsom, 31, is an American harpist, pianist, singer, and songwriter who has previously released albums such as The Milk-Eyed Mender and Have One on Me.
