Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Engagement Confirmed By Actor's Rep
A representative for actor Brad Pitt confirmed Friday that the actor and his longtime life partner, actress Angelina Jolie, are engaged to be married.
"Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring," the actor's representative told CNN Friday.
News of the engagement began to circulate when Jolie was spotted during an April 11 private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese Galleries with Pitt and one of the couple's several adopted children, Pax. Onlookers and paparazzi noticed a large diamond ring on Jolie's engagement finger.
Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop told Entertainment Tonight that he did in fact create an engagement ring for the couple, and that Pitt helped in the creative process.
"Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration with Robert," the jeweler said in a statement, according to MSN.
"He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina's hand. Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution," he added.
Procop, formerly the CEO of British jeweler Asprey & Garrard, said the ring's cut encircles Jolie's finger, and each diamond "is of the highest gem quality."
As previously reported by The Christian Post, Jolie, 36, and Pitt, 48, have been reportedly prepping their Wedding reception hall at their property in France, the 35-bedroom French Château Miraval.
"Brad and Angie have kept this quiet, and they're talking about how and when to announce it. They really get a kick out of teasing people with this whole thing," an insider told OK magazine, as reported by The Christian Post.
"It's a place that they all absolutely adore. With the vineyards and the gorgeous wide-open spaces, they will really be able to create a dream wedding, right on their own property," the insider added.
The famous couple has been together since 2005, and have four adopted children together, Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and two biological children, Knox and Vivienne, 3.
