Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt's Children Question Why Couple Not Married
The relationship between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has been long speculated by the media, and now their six children have started asking questions.
Parents of Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zaharah, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 2-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, Jolie and Pitt have publicly been a couple since January 2006. Dubbed “Brangelina,” the duo is the subject of worldwide media exposure.
Jolie and Pitt, who are not married, have stated several times that their level of commitment to one another is more important than marriage. According to recent reports, their children have questioned why the couple has not wed.

During an interview with “Nightline” Monday, Jolie said, “They have asked, yeah, because… people get married in the movies.”
The 36-year-old actress continued, “Shrek and Fiona are married, you know?”
The Academy Award winner and three-time Golden Globe winner was forced to clarify her relationship with Pitt to her children.
“We’ve explained to them that our commitment, when we decided to start a family, was the greatest commitment you could possibly have,” said Jolie. “Once you have six children, you’re committed.”
According to People magazine, Jolie joked about a possible wedding and that her children were just looking for a sugar rush.
“I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake,” Jolie said of her kids’ questions about a wedding.
Jolie is currently promoting her directorial debut of the film “In the Land of Blood and Honey.” She appeared alongside Pitt as well as his parents at the New York premiere of the movie Monday night.
The Bosnian love story in “Blood and Honey” has earned Jolie Oscar buzz and opens in theaters on Dec. 23.
The film has also earned the actress the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award in Bosnia. Jolie received the heart-shaped award for her “active engagement in the complexities of the real world,” said the award event’s director, Mirsad Purivatra. Purivatra went on to praise Jolie for her work in theater as well as in international matters during the Sarajevo Film Festival event.
Jolie has served as a goodwill ambassador for the UN’s refugee agency UNHCR, and also funded the construction of homes for returnees in eastern Bosnia.
