Angelina Jolie Inspiration for Billy Bob Thornton's New Film?
It is speculated that actor/director Billy Bob Thornton's new movie currently in the works, "And Then We Drove," is inspired by his wild relationship with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
The couple's three year marriage drew plenty of media attention and numerous rumors from their constant bizarre behavior.
Thornton describes the film that he co-wrote and directed as a story about: "a guy who's on a road trip and picks up this girl along the way, and what happens to them. It's about the question of life: 'What is this? Where do I fit in?'"
Fittingly the couple, who eloped in Las Vegas in 2000, spent their honeymoon on a road trip across America, stopping at every McDonalds along the way so they could buy happy meals.
When their doomed marriage ended three years later Jolie said, "It took me by surprise, too, because overnight, we totally changed. I think one day we had just nothing in common. And it's scary but… I think it can happen when you get involved and you don't know yourself yet."
According to reports "And Then We Drove" producer Alexander Rodnyansky, did in fact confirm the film was at least partially inspired by Thornton's well-documented relationship with Jolie.
Despite this confirmation that Jolie was in fact his muse in the movie, his representative told E! News, "This story is not true. It is neither based on nor inspired by his relationship with Angelina."
The 56-year-old star tied the knot with Jolie, after first meeting her on the set of their 1999 film "Pushing Tin." Their marriage became a popular topic of the entertainment media with their frequent public declarations of passion, and wearing one another's blood in vials around their necks.
The pair adopted a Cambodian child in 2002, and their wild marriage ended abruptly three months later.
