Angelina Jolie Sued for Stealing Movie Plot for 'Blood and Honey' (VIDEO)
Angelina Jolie is being sued by a Croatian journalist and author James J. Braddock for stealing the plot for her directorial debut film from a 2007 article penned by him.
The lawsuit has been filed in Illinois. It is claimed that Jolie’s directorial debut “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” which she also wrote, copied Braddock’s book, which also tells the story of a rape victim who ends up working as a servant in a camp filled with soldiers who previously abused her.
The lawsuit states: “The subject work’s main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp. In addition to being raped continuously by soldiers and officers, she is forced to become a servant at the camp headquarters, a duty assumed by very few of the captives.”
It adds: “The Motion Picture’s main female character is also subject to continuous rape by soldiers and officers in the camp and subsequently becomes a servant at camp headquarters.”
Braddock’s lawyers have filed for copyright infringement and have also added GK Films to the suit; the company that released Jolie’s movie.
“In the Land of Blood and Honey” is scheduled to be released Dec. 23.
