Ann Romney DWTS? Former First Lady Hopeful Rejects Dancing With the Stars Offer
Ann Romney has said no to DWTS. According to reports out this week, the wife of the former presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, was asked by producers of the hit reality TV dance competition to feature in the upcoming series, but she turned them down.
Dancing With the Stars producers were keen to have the nearly-First Lady on the show, celebrity website TMZ has reported, but Romney politely turned down the offer.
According to TMZ, producers from ABC approached Romney after her husband lost the 2012 presidential election. The publication further reports that Romney was initially interested and was happy to speak to producers about their offer to see if it was something she'd be interested in.
However, after having "several meetings" with DWTS's people, Romney decided it wise to reject their offer.
A representative for Romney has said: "Ann Romney was approached, but she declined. She will not be appearing on Dancing with the Stars," according to TMZ.
Romney is apparently a fan of the hit reality dance show, according to NY Mag. She even was seen back stage at the finale of last season's show.
At that time she confessed she was "a huge fan! And it was a surprise. We had my granddaughter come with us. And my daughter-in-law, it was her 40th birthday present."
Her rich compliments of the show obviously caught producers' eyes, and they thought she would be a big catch for the upcoming series. Her conversations with the show also indicate that she was seriously considering making an appearance on the show, however, those who would have loved to see Ann on the dance floor will be ultimately left disappointed.
