Anna Duggar, the wife of former "19 Kids and Counting" reality TV star, Josh, has compared her troubled marriage to 'bad labor pains.'

Duggar, who has mostly kept quiet about the ordeal, made the comments on the final episode of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On."

Anna told sister-in-law Jessa how she has been coping ever since Josh confessed to adultery back in August:

"At one point I was like, 'I feel like I've been in labor for like days.' It's like when you're in labor, you just make it through the next contraction and go on and I think there's been a lot of that lately, of just taking the next step and going on."

Jessa added on the show that Anna has been 'doing admirably,' but is still facing a challenging period close to half a year after the scandal broke, Fox News reported.

Josh Duggar confessed to cheating on Anna, with whom he has four children, after hackers leaked information on clients of adulterous website Ashley Madison.

The former executive director of FRC's lobbying arm confessed to cheating on his wife, and called himself "the biggest hypocrite ever."

"While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife," Josh said at the time.

"I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him," he added.

He also admitted that for several years he had been viewing pornography on the Internet, which he said became a "secret addiction."

The "19 Kids and Counting" series, which centered around conservative Christian Arkansas parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their children, was canceled back in May after reports revealed that as a minor Josh molested four of his younger sisters.

The Duggar Family later revealed in a statement that their 27-year-old son had checked himself into a long-term treatment center following the adultery revelations.

"For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future," the family said back then.

Anna Duggar has spoken little publicly about the scandal, but has also not revealed any plans to divorce her husband.
