The Assemblies of God (AG) 2005 Pulse Conference for AG national evangelist began Wednesday with the focus this year on giving back to the attendees.

The conference titled, “Operation Christmas Gift,” hosted by the AG National Evangelists Office on Dec. 7-8 will be an opportunity for the AG headquarters to introduce new initiatives, provisions and resources to AG evangelists including sessions on how to harness the website and media to expand ministries. The event is being held at the AG headquarters in Springfield, Mo., where about 100 AG evangelists gathered from about 17 states across the nation.

“Along with a number of new initiatives, a few of the new resources we’ll be providing include a totally new evangelists’ directory and a completely redeveloped website,” said National Evangelists representative Marshall Windsor in a statement released on the AG website. “The website will be a remarkable tool for evangelists that will include and evangelists’ community forum, new tools and features expressly designed for the ministry of evangelists.”

In addition, the 2005 Pulse Conference also serves as at time to “bless” the Christian leaders through gifts, free resources and more than 80 giveaway prizes throughout the conference. Moreover, a portion of the offerings taken during the conference will go towards assisting evangelists who suffered from the U.S. Gulf Coast hurricanes.

"This is not always an easy time of the year for evangelists," said Windsor. "I wanted this to be a time to give back to them, to be a blessing to them."

Featured speakers for this year's conference include: AG General Superintendent Thomas Trask, National Black Fellowship President Zollie Smith, Evangelist Sam Farina and Windsor. The five breakout sessions this year include: Overcoming Obstacles as an Evangelist’s Wife, Optimum Strategies for Effective Evangelistic Preaching and Outreaching, Observing Legal Issues in Itinerant Ministry, Operating a Maximized Ministry with Media, and Objective Insights for New Evangelists.
