Another Child Killed by Truck in China
Just one week after a 2-year-old girl in China was ran over and killed, a 5-year-old boy was also hit and killed by a truck in western China.
The trucker ran over the boy, and then allegedly ran over him again to ensure he was dead to avoid paying the child's hospital bills, according to a Daily Mail report.
The boy, Xiong Maoke, was walking to school in Luzhuo, China when a truck driven by Ao Yong hit him.

“I saw the truck move back a little and then move forward again,” said Zhang Shifen, a witness. “Xiong became wrapped up in the wheel and the truck continued forward another ten yards.”
Local media contradicted the witness’ story and is reporting that an investigation showed the boy was not ran over twice.
The driver also denied reversing over the boy to kill him. The boy was hit while standing, and he died of traumatic brain injury, according to government officials and police.
The driver argued with the boy’s family about compensation for the damages for 7 hours, according to the police.
The incident comes just one week after a 2-year-old girl, Yue Yue, was ran over twice and killed. As she lay wounded in the streets, 18 people walked, cycled, or drove by her body. She died of brain failure late last week.
Yue Yue's death was captured on a street camera. The footage sparked an international frenzy over the China's morals. Many people also used Yue Yue's death to discuss China societal issues.
In a meeting with province officials, a Communist Party Chief said China has to "take active and effective steps to raise the moral standards of the entire society."
Wang Yang, a top official, said that the incident should be a "wake up" call for Chinese society.
"We should look into the ugliness in ourselves with a dagger of conscience and bite the soul-searching bullet," said Yang.
