'Ant-Man' News: Movie Releases Latest Synopsis, Debuts First Footage on ABC
It been previously reported that "Ant-Man" director Edgar Wright has left the project over creative differences, and the reins have been turned over to Peyton Reed. With a big change like this, it is expected that some changes will occur in the film's plot.
According to Cinemablend, in the initial synopsis, Paul Rudd's character Scott Lang is described as a con man. Recently, Marvel has released a new synopsis in which the character has been upgraded to "master thief." Given that the movie has been described as a "heist film," the change in character description will certainly enable Lang to have the skills that he needs to pull off big heists.
Here is the latest synopsis for "Ant-Man":
"The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time, Marvel Studios Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world," the summary reads.
In other news, ABC ran a prime time special on last Tuesday which was dedicated to Marvel Comics and their transition from comics to the big screen. Among the footage that were shown was scenes from "Ant-Man." The first scene shows Scott and Dr. Pym in what appears to be the doctor's workshop, while the second scene features Scott as he sees the Ant-Man suit for the first time.
