According to Compass Direct News, on Nov. 4 a rampaging army of the anti-Christian extremist group swarmed the capital of Yobe State, known as Damaturu, in Northern Nigeria, and killed 150 people.  Church officials claim that of the 150, at least 130 were Christians.

Reportedly, Boko Haram blocked roadways leading into the town and after bombing and attacking the offices of the local police and raiding a number of banks, the group proceeded to march into New Jerusalem, in Damaturu, which is home to thousands of Christians and summarily killed anyone who was unable to recite the Islamic creed.

Christian organizations have called for President Goodluck Johnathan to declare emergency rule in the northeastern region of the country. Johnathan sent soldiers and instituted a curfew last week, but violence has continued.
