Antonio Cromartie Tells Critics of 12 Children 'God Bless'
After welcoming his 12th child into the world on Mother's Day, NFL free agent Antonio Cromartie responded to his critics on Twitter who chastised him for fathering such a large number of children.
"To everyone out there my kids aren't numbers so please stop referring to them as that. #GodBless At Peace with my Life," the 32-year-old athlete tweeted. "I hope you are."
Cromartie and his wife, Terricka, welcomed twins Jynx Revell-Antonio Cromartie and his sister, J'adore Nayvi Cromartie, into the world on May 8. The couple has been married since 2008, and have two other children stemming from their union, daughter, Jurzie, 5, and son, Jagger, 3.
The NFL player, however, has eight other children from multiple previous relationships.
Instead of focusing on the naysayers on social media, Cromartie remained positive about the two new additions in his family and the fact that his mother has graduated college.
"I would respond to the idiots on my page, but I'm not. I'm on Cloud 9," he tweeted. "I have a beautiful family, my mom graduated college. And I'm at peace."
Cromartie said he took the opportunity to help deliver his son and called the event "an adrenaline rush — the most amazing feeling to actually bring my son into this world and to hand him over to my beautiful wife."
His wife was equally happy, calling her children nothing short of a dream come true.
"It was the most amazing, yet rewarding gift to give birth on Mother's Day. This is a storybook fairy-tale for Antonio and I," she told Us Weekly.
In an Us Weekly report earlier this year, Terricka revealed that she didn't believe she was pregnant since her husband had a vasectomy.
"It was shocking news for the both of us. It took me a while to process it, but Antonio stood firm and was saying, 'It's God's will,'" she revealed to Us Weekly earlier this year. "And he's been excited the whole time.
"All my children are blessings and all of Antonio's children are blessings, for that matter," she told Us Weekly. "It was made to seem that my children weren't a blessing because they were categorized by a number, and for that reason and that reason alone, I hid both of my [first two] pregnancies with my husband, just so I could enjoy them with those who were really happy for me."
