Apple iOS 10 Jailbreak News and Updates: New iOS 10.0.1 Update Foils Jailbreak Release
Despite Apple's well-known and very robust security measures, the tech company's devices have always been susceptible to hacking and jailbreaking. The iOS 10 platform is no exception to this. However, Apple may have found a way to counter the jailbreak.
The iOS 10.0.1 Update
With the release of the new update, iOS 10.0.1, Apple may have technically shut out all intentions of Pangu to jailbreak the platform. Pangu, one of the leading jailbreaking entities of the iOS, has long been teasing a release of an iOS 10 crack. However, the release of the new update may have foiled the much-awaited release from Pangu and have rendered it useless.
Apple just recently made a similar move with the iOS 9.3.5. The release of this update foiled plans to jailbreak the iOS 9.3.4, and conversely, the early release of the iOS 10 made all attempts of hacking the iOS 9.3.5 virtually futile. File sizes of the patch varies, which still depends on the specific device that will utilize it.
However, this still leads to all attempts of jailbreaking the iOS 10 and prior versions to be useless. The only possible means is that if Pangu, TaIG, or other hacking entities can produce an iOS 10.0.1 jailbreak before it even gets patched once again.
Jailbreaking Attempts
Although Pangu has earlier teased its release of the iOS 10 jailbreak, it was reported that the hacking group was actually facing problems down the road. This was mainly due to the errors with the Cydia tool that kept the group from officially releasing the jailbreaking tool.
With the hacking arena being essentially a fast-paced racing game, jailbreaking groups must act fast to successfully roll out their hacks before Apple gets way ahead of them. Luca Tedesco, known for his yaluX hack of the early iOS 10 beta software, has also released his proof of jailbreaking the iOS 10. However, the tool was never released to the public and was also eventually patched by iOS 10.0.1.
Other Update Features
Aside from the jailbreak patch extensively discussed above, iOS 10.0.1 also brings a host of other updates. It brings the prevention of "Hey Siri" request commands and also some fixes for Bluetooth connection issues. Some users have also reported various improvements in the audio quality, along with the camera and Contact apps.
There are also rumors that Apple may have held off the iOS 10.0.1 update for a bit longer to see what the jailbreak has to offer. This allowed the tech company to successfully cover all its bases in prevention of a future jailbreak.
