Apple iPhone X News: Shipping Delayed to December
Even though fans pre-ordered on Oct. 27, the shipping date has been delayed to December.
The current competition in the smartphone market is being propelled forward by the advent of new technology and groundbreaking designs. Apple's iPhone X was unveiled equipped with both features, and as such, the demands from the consumers has intensified. The pre-orders for the highly anticipated smartphone ended as quickly as it opened.
According to The Verge, the release date of the iPhone X to retail stores and carriers will still be on Nov. 3., 8 a.m. EDT. However, for those who pre-ordered online and have no plans to line up at the stores, they will have to wait until December to finally receive their respective iPhones. The delay affected Apple stores in U.S., U.K., China, and Japan, while Hong Kong's page already indicates that there is no supply for the iPhone X available.
"We can see from the initial response, customer demand is off the charts," an Apple spokeswoman told CNBC. "We're working hard to get this revolutionary new product into the hands of every customer who wants one, as quickly as possible. We will keep accepting orders online, and iPhone X will be available at Apple retail stores on Friday, November 3 starting at 8 a.m., as well as from our carrier and retailer partners around the world."
Although the delay was met with disappointment from many of the fans, this incident is nothing new for the tech giant. The demand for the iPhone lineup has always been more than the prepared supply. Considering that Apple has had trouble in getting the iPhone X in the market on time, the delay is still not as severe as many expected it to be. Reports of decreasing the quality of the Face ID also surfaced, and fans were instantly comforted when Apple released a statement that it was false.
The Apple iPhone X will be sold for $999 for the base model.
