Apple iPhone X Release Date, Specs and Price News Update: Most Expensive iPhone Expected To Be Unveiled Today
Apple is expected to reveal today its much-awaited flagship phone. According to reports, the giant technology company will likely unveil at a major event its iPhone 8 or iPhone X as it celebrates the 10th anniversary of its iPhone line of products.
For months, there have been rumors going around that the technology giant had been working on a special edition of its popular iPhone. Although some believed that the name of the company's next flagship phone would be iPhone 8, others claimed that it will most likely be called iPhone X, where "X" represented the number 10 in Roman numerals and was intended to honor the original iPhone's 10th anniversary.
The iPhone X is said to feature special facial recognition technology that will serve as an ID system. Not only that, it also maps the expressions of users onto animated emoji characters, called Animoji. The phone will also reportedly feature a stunning design, making it more appealing than its predecessors.
When it comes to its display, some reports claim that the upcoming phone will be the first Apple device to feature an edge-to-edge display, just like Samsung's recent outings. The phone will reportedly come with a screen that takes up most of the front of the device. Also adding to its appeal is its glass finish.
Another expected strength of the iPhone X is its wireless charging technology, which allows users to refill its battery without having to go near a plug. The device will reportedly be the most expensive smartphone ever launched by Apple, with a price tag of $1,000. It remains to be seen if this price is just for the base model of the iPhone X or if it will get even higher for the version of the device with extra memory.
The iPhone X is expected to be available for pre-orders on Sept. 15 and will be ready for shipping on Sept. 22.
