Apple iWatch Release Date and Specs: Smartwatch to Have 10 Separate Sensors for Fitness
The market for wearable devices has opened up this year and it looks like Apple is ready to enter that market with the release of the iWatch.
There hasn't been any announcements regarding the iWatch's release but it seems the device will get announced by Apple in September, following a release on the same month or the month after that.
The iWatch will be the first of Apple's wearable devices and will be able to sync together with the iPhone. In essence, the iWatch is alike to the Samsung Galaxy Gear when it comes to compatibility with its own products.
As for the design, Apple might either go for the square-type face watch or might go the same way Motorola has gone with their own wearable by using a round-type face watch.
The iWatch will also be protected with the newer Sapphire glass, much like the iPhone 6 display. The switch to Sapphire glass will surely make the iWatch more expensive but the device will surely be protected from the usual wear and tear a wearable faces with daily use.
The Apple wearable is also aimed to be a monitor of sorts, which will be useful for fitness-oriented consumers. It is speculated that the iWatch will be crammed with 10 sensors which includes an heart-rate monitor, a gyroscope, a compass, an altimeter, and a pulse oximeter among others.
Of course, there would still be the features one would expect with a smart watch like OS compatible apps.
Apple is also delving into the wireless charging technology with their iWatch, most likely the Qi magnetic induction that's present in the Motorola Moto 360.
