Apple MacBook 2017 Lineup News: Apple Reportedly Eyeing Q3 Launch

The new MacBook 2017 lineup is getting as much hype as the next iPhone. While Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has been tight-lipped about the upcoming lineup, reports suggest that it will definitely be worth the wait.

Previously, the MacBook Pro had a major refresh when a new version with the Touch Bar was launched at an Apple event sometime in October last year. Shortly after that event, Apple dropped the 11-inch MacBook Air. Since then, speculations about the tech giant planning to replace the Air series with a 12-inch MacBook model have begun to surface.

When it comes to the chipset, the MacBook lineup this 2017 is expected to sport Intel's most recent processor, Kaby Lake, just like the 2017 revamp of the iMac, which is said to also have Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.2 and USB 3.1 support. Previously, Bloomberg reported that Apple was working on a new chip for the next batch of MacBooks that would improve the functionality of the devices.

According to the report, the new chip is codenamed T310 and it is going to provide a "Power Nap" feature to enhance the laptops' battery life. The MacBook 2017 models will also reportedly come in two random-access memory (RAM) variants: 8 GB and 16 GB.

Tech enthusiasts can expect Apple to keep the Touch Bar for its MacBook Pro 2017 models. The 13-inch variant will be sold for around $2,199, while the 15-inch variant could carry a price tag of $4,249.

As Apple seeks to improve its Retina display, the MacBook Pro 2017 may feature a Quad HD+ screen with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,800 pixels. The 2017 lineup could also feature a premium model that will sport up to 32 GB of RAM.

Apple is expected to unveil the 2017 lineup by the third quarter of this year. However, the tech giant has not yet confirmed the specs of the MacBook 2017 so tech enthusiasts must stay tuned for more updates.
