Apple MacBook 2017 Specs, Rumors: Laptop Could Replace the MacBook Air Line
Apple is making 2017 its year of great products and big reveals, as it is expected to launch various devices, with the spotlight on the rumored iPhone 8. Aside from the smartphone, however, people are looking to the Cupertino giant to reveal a new installment to the MacBook, and this year might be the right time.
While there is a report that Apple is holding a big event this spring, it might not be the time that the company unveils the new laptop. According to International Business Times, it may start production during that time but will eventually come to the markets sometime in the early third quarter (Q3) of the year.
When it does, it looks like the device will be presented with two random-access memory (RAM) variants, one with 8 GB and the other with 16 GB. While the 8 GB option could be the more affordable one, the other model is suitable for those who wish to get an Apple laptop with an optimized memory.

Just like other Apple models launching in 2017, the upcoming MacBook is rumored to sport Intel's Kaby Lake processor, making it fast and efficient. What's more interesting to note, however, is how it may carry a chip with the codename T310, allowing it to use a feature dubbed "Power Nap," greatly conserving the laptop's energy, Bloomberg has learned.
Macworld, on the other hand, thinks that the MacBook 2017 could be stomping out the MacBook Air line for a variety of reasons. The most viable reason is that the moniker Air was given to the latter due to its thin design, but other Apple laptops are already receiving the same feature, if not better. As for portability, techies can simply get an iPad Pro, so it makes sense to phase out the MacBook Air.
With too little to go around, people are left to speculation, so fans will have to wait and see when there is confirmation already.
