Apple Products Exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum
The Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. has created an exhibit about technological advancements and features several Apple products.
To demonstrate the development of technology in the 21st century, the Smithsonian contains about 130 Apple-related pieces. The science exhibit covers technology developed from the 11th century to the present.
Apple products such as the trademark white earbuds are on display, along with manuals and advertisements by the company, among many other products.
The leading technology from Apple, including Steve Jobs’ creations, have changed the way users access online content. Music, movies, and the internet have changed radically due to the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and other devices invented by Steve Jobs.
The honor of being featured at the museum in the nation’s capital comes to Apple as the company is the focus of global attention. After releasing the latest iPhone technology and losing their iconic former CEO Steve Jobs last week, Apple has coveted the interest of even the non-tech audience.
Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S Tuesday of last week, attracting rampant media buzz. While disappointed that the iPhone 5 was not released, users are enthusiastic about the improved features of the latest device. Then, on Wednesday, Steve Jobs died of a respiratory arrest that was due to his long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Celebrities, politicians, Apple fans, and people around the world have expressed their grief over Jobs’ death at age 56. The co-founder and former CEO of Apple was disputably one of the most innovative thinkers in the world of technology today.

At Apple stores across the globe, mourners paid their respects last week attending vigils and bringing flowers while using their Apple products.
Apple is honoring the visionary with a memorial service at their Cupertino, Calif. campus on Wednesday. The iPhone 4S goes on sale this Friday, and has already collected over 1 million pre-orders.
