Reported to feature both Apple apps and Siri integration, the new Apple TV will feature a redesigned Bluetooth-powered remote sporting physical buttons, a touchscreen interface, a microphone to call on Siri, and even motion sensors that will allow users to handle it like a Nintendo Wii remote, or a steering wheel.

Below its heavier and thicker framework, the set-top box will be carrying an improved A8 processor capable of handling apps and games specific to the Apple TV. It is also speculated to have additional onboard storage, and a much faster wireless 802.11ac.

The Apple TV will be powered by the new iOS 9, which will also be unveiled at the same event. With a more powerful processor will come a more powerful Siri A.I. which is geared at anticipating users' next commands based on past activity. It will also make the new Apple TV a more conducive home hub with the added convenience of upcoming HomeKit devices Apple and its partners will be launching before next week's unveiling.

Reports have surfaced Apple will be releasing a TV software development kit to open up an opportunity for developers to create custom-built apps. It will also be allowing third-party manufacturers to build Bluetooth-powered controllers and similar devices to complement the Apple TV, making the set-top box work more like an Xbox or PlayStation console.

With all these new improvements, the new Apple TV is likely to lighten wallets by as much as $150 to $200, and will start shipping by October following the September 9 launch.
