Apple TVs to Range From 46-55-inches in Size

Apple is apparently working on television sets that will range from 46-55-inches in size.

Central News Agency in Taiwan reports that Foxconn is currently working with Apple to test several designs for Apple television sets in the range of 46-55-inches.

The source also stated that Apple might be looking to display its first developed TV at the Consumer Electronics Show set to take place in Las Vegas next month.

However, that seems unlikely, since Apple normally holds its own unveilings and avoids making appearances at other popular technology trade shows.

Other reports have stated that Apple launching its new line of TVs in 2013 is unlikely, so it would be pointless for the company to try to show something off at CES.

Cook first hinted at Apple putting out a TV in the near future during his interview on "Rock Center."

After being asked "what's next for Apple" by the show's host Brian Williams, Cook replied with an interesting answer.

"When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years," Cook told Williams. "It's an area of intense interest. I can't say more than that."

This is not a process Apple has just begun.

The company has reportedly been testing television set prototypes for years and many of them have never been brought into the market, according to the report. This indicates that the televisions being worked on by Apple at this time could end up being scrapped as well.

Apple's entry into the television market would be interesting, as that is a field largely dominated by Samsung and its Smart TV line.

Smart TV allows users to view and use applications on their televisions sets in the same way they would do so on their tablets and smartphones.
