Apple Watch 2 Rumors: Device To Be Launched In March?

After slashing the price of the Apple Watch in certain retailer stores by as much as $100, rumors claiming that Apple is set to unveil its Apple Watch 2 this March have started circulating on the Internet again.

According to an earlier report of The Inquirer, the Apple 2 watch is being rumored to be introduced to the market in March, along with the iPhone 6c and the iPad Air3.

As these are only rumors, there is no certainty to their veracity. There are also other reports claiming that the device will not be unveiled anytime sooner than in September this year.

Tech Crunch opined that Apple's move to sell the Apple Watch at a discounted price at some of its retailer stores should not send an idea that the Apple Watch 2 is already about to make its debut in the market. Rather, according to the publication, it is a move to capture the market first with its first Apple Watch and plant the idea in its consumers that they need to buy the Apple Watch 2 once it hits the market, sparking the interest of Apple product fans for its upcoming watch.

The website also noted that since the Apple Watch only works with an iPhone, selling it at a discounted price can engender brand loyalty. After all, owning an Apple Watch and using another brand of smartphone just don't go hand in hand. Hence, selling the Apple Watch at a much lower price can be interpreted as Apple's way to lasso in more customers and make them stick to the brand.

It also noted that Apple's move not to sell the watch at a discounted price in its own stores but giving discounts at its partner stores only goes to prove that the company wants the public to perceive the product as a luxury item, and luxury items must not go on sale.

If Tech Crunch's observations and analysis are to be believed, this means that the rumor that Samsung and LG are joining forces to provide the Apple Watch 2 with a flexible OLED screen and other persistent rumors around the Apple Watch 2 will remain as such until the product is finally unveiled--- who knows when.
