Apple's September 9 event accessible from other devices via livestream
Apple's keynote event on Sept. 9 will be accessible from other devices via livestream to allow fans from outside of San Francisco to watch the tech giant's announcements online.
Apple's event on Sept. 9 will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. The invitations given away by the company mention something about a livestream in the footnotes and the details will be posted on Apple's micro-site, according to Christian Today.
The micro-site will feature a live, real-time video stream from San Francisco. It will also include still images, quotes, and choice keynotes from the Apple event next week, the report adds.
Fans who want to get the most out of the livestream event will have to update their Apple devices to at least iOS 7.0. They can also watch the event on their Apple TVs that run the 6.2 software or later. Mac users, on the other hand, have to update to at least Safari 6.0.5 and ensure that they are using the OS X v10.8.5.
Users of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch have to get the official Apple WWDC app from the App store and watch the event from there. Those using the Mac or Apple TV have to go to http://www.apple.com/live/ on their Safari browser and stream the event from there, Phone Arena reports.
In the past, Apple event livestreams were exclusive for Apple devices. However, after Microsoft released its latest Windows 10 platform, Apple has decided to include its users in the livestream crowd with the Edge browser, which has support for HTTP Live Streaming technology. They simply have to open the same Apple site mentioned ealier from their Edge browser and watch the event from there.
Users on non-Windows 10 PC and Android devices fortunately can also tune in to Apple's event. Phone Arena lists a couple of steps that users can try to join the Apple event livestreaming crowd.
The tagline of next week's event is "Hey, Siri, give us a hint." Last year, the September event turned out to be the unveiling of the Apple Watch. This year, a second-generation smartwatch could be on its way, but this is still unconfirmed.
For now, details about Apple's Sept. 9 event are scant, but the tech giant is expected to unveil its latest iPhone, Apple TV, and iPad.
