'Aquaman' News, Release Date: Cast Members Celebrate End of Production
Production on "Aquaman" has concluded, and the cast has taken to social media to celebrate.
Jason Momoa, who plays the titular King of the Seven Seas, shared photos of cast members and stunt doubles celebrating the wrapping of filming.
"It's been a wild ride this last 7 months," Momoa wrote in the caption. "Can't wait for the world to see it."
Amber Heard, who plays Aquaman's wife Mera, also took to Instagram to post photos of her with her on-screen husband.
Director James Wan, on the other hand, shared a photo on his Twitter page and shared the news with his followers.
"Aquaman" may have finished filming, but fans will have to wait a while before seeing the standalone feature. Momoa will first make his debut as the character in the upcoming "Justice League," which unites the heroes to fight against a larger threat. However, having such strong personalities on the same team will inevitably result in some conflict at first.
"Me and Cyborg do not get along at all. I don't trust him as far as I can throw him," Momoa told Total Film magazine, according to GamesRadar. "Over time, that will change. It's the same thing with Bruce [Wayne]. I'm like, 'Nah, I'm not buying into it.'"
In "Aquaman," though, Arthur Curry will have to deal with a few villains of his own. There will be three threats in the standalone film: King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), and Ocean Maser (Patrick Wilson). It has also been said that the Trench may make an appearance.
Other cast members include Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Graham McTavish as an unknown character. McTavish took to Twitter to reveal that he will be in "Aquaman," though his role is being kept under wraps.
"Aquaman" will hit U.S. cinemas on Dec. 21, 2018.
