'Aquaman' News, Update: Actor Jason Momoa Gave Hints of Traditionally Colored Production Designs

Actor Jason Momoa is expected to grace the big screen, although briefly, in the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe title "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," as Aquaman with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck as the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight, respectively.

Throwing off some hints, director Zack Snyder shared a photo of the superhero consumed with deep and dark colors, and is highlighted with tribal tattoos and knotty dreadlocks.

Speculations were rife indicating that the portrayal of the Atlantean entity might be veering away from the source materials. However, this might not be entirely the case as what Momoa had recently said in an interview with The Robot's Voice.

Citing Screen Rant, one of the first media outlets to pick up the story, the audience may still be able to see him sporting the more traditional green and orange costume of which Aquaman was best recognized.

"Well, there might be some bit of orange and green. A bit of respect to prior work, but I think he is meaner now and upset – look at what has been done to our oceans. That's his world that has been polluted," the 36-year-old actor said (via SR).

In fact, fans will be able to see a glimpse of his character, at least in its small-scale representation, next year. The "Game of Thrones" star confirmed to Robot's Voice that he has already been scanned in preparation for the production of the promotional toys for "Dawn of Justice." SR added that a number of the said collectibles is due to be released in early 2016, months ahead before the film hits the theaters.

Other than his Batman V Superman cameo, there are also rumors saying that Arthur Curry/Aquaman may also be among the death row convicts at Belle Reve Penitentiary in the next Warner Bros film, "Suicide Squad." After which, he is expected to join the rest of the superheroes in 2017's "The Justice League Part One" and then to his own James Wan-helmed solo movie, "Aquaman," which is to be released on July 27, 2018.
