Are Will and Jada Smith to Join List of High Profile Hollywood Divorces?
Reports are stating that celebrity couple Will and Jada Smith have separated after 13 years of marriage.
Known for being extremely vocal about their love and devotion to one another, the couple has often been noted as being one of the most secure and enduring celebrity couples, along with the likes of Jay-Z and Beyonce, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw and Heidi Klum and Seal.
However, if reports are true they may now join the growing trend of long standing celebrity couples that have ended their relationships.
Here's a rundown of other Hollywood couples that have seen their long relationships go south and who have broken their wedding vows:
Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony:
After a seven year marriage, which is considered quite long in Hollywood years, Lopez announced in July in Us Magazine that her marriage to Anthony was over. The couple has two children, fraternal twins Emme and Maximilian.
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus:
Parents to Disney star Miley Cyrus, the couple was married for 17 years before announcing their plans for divorce in October 2010. In an interview with People Magazine, Billy Ray Cyrus stated that the Hannah Montana phenomenon had "destroyed" his family. However, reports of their reconciliation and the calling off of the divorce began to surface in March 2011.
George and Ann Lopez:
The couple was married for 17 years and have a daughter, Mayan. News of their divorce in 2010 was heightened due to the fact that Ann donated a kidney to George in 2005. However, both have stated that the split was amicable and they have continued their relationship as co-parents and business partners in their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation.
Mel Gibson and Robyn Moore:
News of their separation surfaced in 2009 when Gibson began dating 24-year-old Russian model and singer Oksana Popchepa. It was then revealed that the couple had been separated since 2006. Gibson stated in a 2011 interview that his infamous Malibu drunk driving arrest was the catalyst for the split. Moore officially filed for divorce in April 2009. The couple was married for 28 years, and has seven children and two grandchildren.
