Aretha Franklin Talks Faith, Miraculous Healing
Aretha Franklin, the 70-year-old Christian singer, recently opened up about how her faith has played a part in her miraculous healing.
Franklin opened up to The Associated Press about having to cancel some recent shows and admitted that her ailing health was the reason. However, she also revealed that a miraculous healing was taking place in her life and recalled a conversation with her friend and fellow singer Smokey Robinson detailing the works that God was doing in her life.
"I was talking to Smokey Robinson, my oldest best friend Smokey, talking about the fact that some doctors are not very well acquainted with faith healing. And Smokey said, 'Well, they just don't know who your healer is.'" Franklin recalled to AP. "My treatments are going very well. My last CAT scan, my doctor at the CAT scan and everyone [who] sees this says that this is miraculous, absolutely miraculous."

Still, the veteran singer did not feel comfortable detailing the illness that she was battling.
"I'm not one to go into my personal health things," she told AP. "I just had to deal with it."
While Franklin admitted that her health has been a cause for concern while putting her performances on hold, she admitted that she is improving.
"Any time you have cancellations you should be concerned," she told AP. "But all prayer is good, and keep me in your prayers until I am 100 percent, not 85, and back onstage."
Franklin was the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and roll hall of Fame and was also named one of Rolling Stone magazine's 100 best singers of all time. Last year, she was inducted into The Gospel Music Hall of Fame, an honor shared with the likes of fellow singers Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley.
Franklin has previously spoken about her singing abilities being a gift from God.
"Being a singer is a natural gift. It means I'm using to the highest degree possible the gift that God gave me to use," she said previously, according to Yahoo! reports. "I'm happy with that...My faith always has been and always will be important to me."
