'Arrow' Season 2 Spoilers: Thea's Father Malcolm Merlyn Returns With Irresistible Offer
"Arrow" returns to The CW on Wednesday with a brand new episode entitled "Streets of Fire."
This week, fans will learn more about Thea's father when Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) returns to Starling City for the final episodes of season two. After photos of Merlyn surfaced online, "Arrow" viewers are wondering that his return could mean, and if Thea learns of her father's return.
Fortunately, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg offered some hints about what the final episodes of season two has in store for fans.
"All hell is going to break loose in the city, and Thea will find herself in a precarious predicament- and Thea is going to be saved by her father," said Kreisberg, according to Zap2it. "He is going to offer her what she doesn't have anymore."
As it turns out, Thea's father will be able to offer her a family.
"That was part of our math with killing Moira," Kreisberg said, referring to the character's death earlier this season. "If we were going to send Thea in that direction, there couldn't be anything that was pulling her back here. Now she has a brother who lied to her and has done something unforgivable and no mother. On the flipside, she has Malcolm Merlyn saying, 'I will never lie to you, Thea.'"
Meanwhile, "Arrow" fans are preparing for the season finale next week. As previously reported, Nyssa al Ghul will lead the League of Assassins in combating Slade's army while the fate of Starling City hangs in the balance. Furthermore, when it all happens in the May 14 finale, "It's the Arrow, Canary, Roy and the League of the Assassins against Slade and his mirakuru army for the city," Kreisberg said.
"It's f------ insane," the producer added.
"Arrow" airs on The CW Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "Streets of Fire" is as follows: "Slade's soldiers attack the city' Felicity gets a call from S.T.A.R. Labs with some game-changing news; Thea comes face-to-face with her father, Malcolm Merlyn."
