Arrow and Arsenal arrive, and Harkness throws boomerangs at Oliver but they don't hit him because of The Flash, who catches them in time.

Later, they learn that Harkness was a member of the Suicide Squad, and a failed mission in Tanzania made Amanda Waller decide to terminate the team. Lyla was the one who decided to detonate the micro bombs in the squads neck, but Harkness' bomb was defective and he survived, and now he's after Lyla.

Barry reveals his secret identity to Lyla, and Oliver pulls him aside and tells him that he doesn't need his help, but later he changes his mind and accepts Barry's help.

They track down Markos, the man who made the boomerangs. Oliver tortures him to get Harkness' location, and Markos hands him a phone. Though this yields results, Barry is not pleased that Oliver hurt him to extract information.

Back at HQ, Felicity manages to decrypt the phone and trace Harkness. However, Harknes uses the phone's signal to find Lyla, and he shows up at Arrow Headquarters. He throws a boomerang at Lyla and it hits her, and Barry carries her and runs her to the hospital.

Oliver is blaming himself for Lyla's injuries and thinks that if he hadn't tortured Markos, none of this would have happened. Barry assures him that despite everything he went through, he has not lost his humanity. Then Felicity says that she found Harkness' location.

They head over to the train station and Harkness is there. However, he says that there are five bombs in the city that are about to go off in 90 seconds. While Oliver fights Harkness, Barry enlists Felicity and Cisco's help to find the bombs. He finds all of them and cuts all the wires. Then, Harkness is captured and imprisoned.

Meanwhile, Lyla is at the hospital and is awake. Diggle proposes to her, and she accepts.

At the Arrow Headquarters, the teams exchange gifts. Then to settle who would win in a fight, The Flash or The Arrow, the two head off to an abandoned warehouse for a friendly competition.

Here is the official synopsis for episode 9 titled "The Climb":

"Nyssa returns and tells Oliver that her father, Ra's al Ghul, has given him 48 hours to find Sara's killer or the League of Assassins will start killing the citizens of Starling City. Meanwhile, Laurel is stunned when her mother visits at Christmas, and Ray tries to make amends with Felicity."

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8pm on The CW.
