It was suspected that Felicity will be the one who Oliver was seen mourning since the camera showed an engagement ring before showing Oliver. However, there is a low possibility that Felicity will die. It was suspected that Barry will not be late for her funeral even if he had many villains to fight in Central City. In addition, fans expected Oliver to show more devastation if he actually lost Felicity.

Another possible character is Thea Queen. It was reported that there is a possibility that Malcolm Merlyn will be putting Oliver and Thea on opposite sides. It was also suspected that the season could see Malcolm plotting against Thea.

Nyssa Al Ghul is also suspected to die in the season because the previous season saw her upset at the fact that Malcolm had led the League of Assassins. With that, she could possibly try to challenge him for the position, which will most likely end up with her death.

It was reported that Lyla Diggle could also be the one that Oliver was morning because there is a possibility that Malcolm or Damien Darhk will kill her. It is evident that Diggle and Oliver have tension that could lead to Lyla dying. With that, there is a chance that the two can reunite after Lyla's death.

However, fans will have to continue watching the rest of the season in order to find out who exactly it was.
