'Arrow' Season 5 Release Date and Updates: New Love Interest for Felicity; Cast, Plot and What You Need to Know
"Arrow" Season 5 is set to premiere this fall and the series will continue to be an action-packed show for heroes. Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) journey throughout the four seasons had been the struggle to be the right hero and at the same time he had to exert effort to improve his treatment towards the people he loves.
In the series, Oliver has been leading a dual life and is trying to heal the pain of the trauma he experienced, and with this, he has learned to be good in keeping secrets. This eventually led to the break-up with him and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).
A New Love
As the series progresses, Felicity decides that she cannot marry a man who keeps a lot of secrets from her and though her relationship with Oliver has been strained, she still continues to help with Team Arrow.
However, with the strained relationship between Oliver and Felicity, it has been reported that Felicity will meet a new love interest in the first few episodes of the fifth season.
Felicity's new love interest in Season 5 will step in right away during the first episode. Yet there are no reports on how long the new love will last or stay in the series.
Furthermore, in an interview with the cast of "Arrow" at the San Diego Comic Con, Amell stated that his character will not be jealous with Felicity's new love. He even joked about the character to appear in Episode 1 and die in act 4 with an arrow on his head.
What Happened
In "Arrow" Season 4 finale episode, Felicity disabled the Nuclear Missile to save millions of people. It has been a difficult finale for Felicity, in fact, executive producer Wendy Mericle stated that Felicity will have a more difficult season ahead. She further noted that Felicity will be grappling about what happened at Havenrock and that it will be a huge focus for her in the fifth season for the first nine episodes.
The "Olicity" pair has been one of the elements in Season 4 which was controversial. The upcoming fifth season will give a new love interest which leaves Oliver to battle with a new guy. There will also be a new villain in the upcoming season and Team Arrow will have some new recruits. The show will also feature a four-season crossover with other CW shows.
"Arrow" Season 5 will premiere on October 5, 2016, in the CW Network.
