Two Familiar Faces Arrive in Present-Day Star City in 'Arrow' Season 5

Fans will once again meet a couple of familiar faces in upcoming episodes of "Arrow" season 5 as the show reaches the back half of its current run.

Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Cody Rhodes is set to reprise his role as the villainous drug dealer turned monster Derek Sampson in episode 21 of "Arrow" season 5.

He was first introduced in the third episode of "Arrow" season 5 titled "A Matter of Trust" as a dealer of a dangerous drug called Stardust, which also happens to be the name Rhodes used in the WWE ring.

An accident turned him into a powerful monster who cannot feel pain and used this ability to expand his drug empire only to be dealt with by the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell).

But it looks like his reign of terror is not over yet. Rhodes himself confirmed his return in "Arrow" season 5 on Twitter, saying "Well I guess the news is out ..."

It has also been revealed that another person from Oliver's past will once again find him in the present in "Arrow" season 5. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased to Entertainment Weekly that Talia Al Ghul (Lexa Doig) will pay a visit to Star City.

"What she wants from Oliver in the past is very different from what she wants from him in the present," the EP said of the character.

Although Talia is part of Oliver's past in Russia, there is one thing that the latter still does not know about her and their meeting in the present come "Arrow" season 5 will surprise Ollie.

"Oliver couldn't have heard it, because if he had, when Ra's talked about his daughter he'd be like, 'Yeah, the other daughter, I met her back in Russia.' We were very cognizant not to retcon anything. So yes, she is Talia al Ghul, but Oliver obviously doesn't know that," Guggenheim said.

"Arrow" season 5 will be back with episode 16, "Checkmate," on Wednesday, March 14, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
