'Arrow' Season 6 Spoilers: Oliver to Reunite With a Merlyn?

Oliver (Stephen Amell) is keen to meet a Merlyn again in the upcoming season of "Arrow."

Amell has recently revealed which popular character he wants to see again in the future installments of the CW series. According to Comicbook, the actor chose Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), Oliver's best friend who perished in the first season. He was killed when the Green Arrow attempted to take down his father, Malcolm (John Barrowman). Amell said that out of all the characters, he wants to see how Tommy would change Oliver's storyline, knowing that they could be each other's biggest enemy.

"As great as the emotional significance of him dying in the season one finale was, and as much as that impacted and sort of reverberates through the show, I really would've loved to see what happened to that character," Amell explained in a panel at Salt Lake Comic Con. "Because obviously, the lore of Tommy Merlyn is that he becomes Oliver's greatest nemesis."

Meanwhile, Oliver is set to reunite with Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), aka Arsenal. Spoilers reveal that Haynes will reprise his role as the green vigilante's ex-prodigy. The last time he was seen in the series, Roy was being brainwashed by The Calculator (Tom Amandes). The actor decided to leave the show for personal reasons at the end of season 3. Roy is expected to continue his apprenticeship under Oliver. Aside from Haynes, other cast members confirmed to return in the new installment are Manu Bennett and Katie Cassidy.

Bennett will continue to portray Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. The villain will track down Oliver to finish what they started before Adrian Chase, aka Prometheus (Josh Segarra) came into the picture. Cassidy's Earth-2 Black Siren, on the other hand, has been teased to be one of the big bads in the new storyline.

"Arrow" season 6 will air on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. EDT on the CW.
