'Arrowverse' Crossover: Barry and Iris' Wedding Gatecrashed by Evil Doppelgangers [Everything We Know So Far]
A rundown of every spoiler-y detail revealed in new artwork
"Arrowverse" fanatics know that they are in for an epic crossover when The CW teases the huge event even before the four shows in the lineup have not premiered yet.
This is exactly what the network did. A comic book-style artwork has been released for the "Arrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow" crossover, which is titled "Crisis on Earth-X."
The teaser image created by legendary comic artist Phil Jimenez shows that the "Arrowverse" crossover event will take place during and Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry's (Grant Gustin) wedding.
It will be a superhero-studded event as the couple's superhero friends will be there to witness them exchange vows. Apart from taking part in their big day, another reason their attendance is valuable is because "villains from Earth-X crash the festivities with a deadly agenda."
The artwork shows that during the "Arrowverse" crossover battle, apart from the titular heroes in the four shows, Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), new "Legends of Tomorrow" addition Zari (Tala Ashe), Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy), Mister Terrific (Echo Kellum) and Vibe (Carlos Valdes) will also be part of the action.
It is also interesting to see that Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) was featured in the image, suggesting that she will be fighting alongside the heroes. This suggests that the character may have finally learned to control her powers while maintaining her true self.
The "Arrowverse" crossover will also feature a new gay character on the side of the good — Raymond "Ray" Terrill to be played by "Quantico" actor Russell Tovey.
He is a former reporter who stumbled upon a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction.
Before he could expose them to the world, Ray was exposed to a "genetic light bomb" that gave him light-based powers, which he used to not only report injustice, but put a stop to it.
The artwork also features Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), which suggests that he will be back for the "Arrowverse" crossover. It is unclear how he will be back to the fold in time for the battle.
As to what the "crisis" is all about, it is being said that the crossover will see the heroes Supergirl, Green Arrow and The Flash fight evil versions of themselves from a world where the Nazis won the Second World War. There is also an archer in the graphic, which is said to be a version of Malcolm Merlyn (Jonathan Barrowman) from that world.
Due to the new schedules of "Arrow," "Flash," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow," the crossover will span over two nights only (Nov. 27 and 28) with two episodes airing back to back.
