Arrowverse Crossover Spoilers, Cast: Prometheus-X to Appear But Josh Segarra Won't Portray Him

Just when fans thought that the upcoming four-way Arrowverse crossover involving "Arrow," "Flash," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow" could not get any more epic, it does with the revelation that Prometheus will take part in the action.

Prometheus was the big bad played brilliantly by Josh Segarra in "Arrow" season 5. Easily a fan-favorite villain to viewers, the man also known as Adrian Chase met his demise in the finale.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the version that will be featured in the Arrowverse crossover hails from Earth-X, where the evil doppelgangers of The Flash (Grant Gustin), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) also come from, thus getting the name Prometheus-X.

However, Segarra will not be returning to play the character in the highly anticipated crossover. It will be another actor who is yet to be revealed.

It is speculated that it could be Paul Blackthorne, whose character Quentin was, at one point, hinted at as the villain in "Arrow," but turned out to be red herring. It will be interesting to see what it will be like for that reality to exist in another Earth.

It could also end up being Roy since his portrayer Colton Haynes recently teased his imminent return to the series. This will make for a shocking way for the actor to return the fold and will definitely take Team Arrow aback.

Interestingly, there is also a possibility that it is Jonathan Barrowman. His fate as Malcolm Merlyn was left hanging in the balance in the "Arrow" season 5 finale, but it was assumed that he bites the dust since the actor stated that he is leaving the Arrowverse.

However, showrunner Marc Guggenheim said that there are always other ways for him to return with the idea of time travel and parallel universes now at play, which made Barrowman happy.

Whether or not this results in him playing the role of Prometheus-X in the Arrowverse crossover, fans will just have to wait and see on Nov. 27 and 28.
