Arsenal vs Coventry takes place Wednesday in the Capital One League Cup third round. The match kicks off at 2.45 p.m. ET and although there is no live broadcast available, the live match commentary can be followed via the Arsenal Player (details below).
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is well known for giving younger players a run out and a chance to gain experience in this League Cup competition and the same can be expected again on Wednesday.
Wenger is set to name a young side, which will reportedly include Nico Yennaris, who was a young mascot when Arsenal last hosted Coventry 12 years ago.
Coventry were relegated last season and are currently sitting second bottom in English League One. They have had a terrible time of it lately, and have found it near impossible to find any string of good form. Most pundits expect the Sky Blues to be unable to provide much resistance to the Gunners, even with a youthful outfit put out.
Coventry have a terrible record in the competition over recent decades as well, only managing to reach the fourth round twice since 1990, when they went as far as the semi finals.
Arsenal meanwhile come into this tie with some fantastic form - being unbeaten in 10 league and cup games. They have not lost to a side from English soccer's third league for 29 years, when Walsall knocked them out in the fourth round 3-1 at Highbury in November 1983.
The Gunners have won the League Cup in 1987 and 1993, and have been runners up on five other occasions, and have gotten to the quarter finals in each of the last nine seasons.
