Ashton Kutcher: Justin Bieber 'Tried to Steal My Swagger' (VIDEO)
Ashton Kutcher has explained that he bought his new L.A. home after his "Punk'd" television partner Justin Bieber "tried to steal my swagger."
The "Two and a Half Men" actor appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Tuesday night promoting the new "Punk'd" series alongside one of the show's hosts, 18-year-old Bieber.
Kutcher, the "Punk'd" series co-creator, explained that he has been living in rental homes since his split from wife Demi Moore last year.
"I found this amazing house in L.A. that was on Air B&B and I booked this house to stay in for, like, three months," said the 34-year-old. "I was away, I booked the house, it was all done and all of a sudden my assistant tells me there's somebody coming to look at the house to maybe buy it."
Kutcher continued to divulge that the next turn of events resulted in the actor's purchase of the L.A. home.
"I get a text from this guy [Bieber] and he's in my house, like, checking it out," said Kutcher speaking to Jimmy Kimmel. "He's like, 'Yo, I'm in your house right now …' He's like, 'Don't pay anymore than $9.5 [million] for it.' ... He's giving me real estate advice."
Because Bieber showed an interest in buying the same L.A. home Kutcher had rented, the 34-year-old actor said he felt pressured into buying it first.
"I had to buy the house because I thought he was going to buy it out from under me," Kutcher said of the "Boyfriend" singer. "I was like 'I don't want to lose this house.' He forced me to buy a house. He's trying to steal my swagger."
Noting the rental service Air B&B, Kutcher added, "You can basically go online and rent a house or a room in a house. It's sort of like traveling around the world, living on this service."
Meanwhile, Bieber has reportedly moved to Calabasas, Calif., and is currently in discussions about his first house purchase.
Tuesday night's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" also saw Kutcher blame Bieber for copying the actor's favorite car.
Of the eco-friendly Fisker Karma that Bieber received for his 18th birthday, Kutcher joked, "It's my car … He's, like, trying to get my house and then he takes my car."
"Scooter got it for me it wasn't my idea," defended Bieber of his manager, Scooter Braun's birthday gift to the singer.
"Punk'd" returns to MTV this Thursday. While Kutcher serves as executive producer, Bieber is the first of many rotating celebrity guests on the show.
