Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag DLC for Black Beard's Wrath Released Today on Multi-Platforms

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's new DLC, Blackbeard's Wrath was released today for $2.99 on all platforms except for the Wii U.

The expansion pack gives players the option of three different characters in multiplayer with Blackbeard being one of them reports Polygon. The other two are The Jaguar and The Orchid.

There are four trophies as well. Sacred Land has to be completed with The Jaguar, and they must be the highest scoring player in a Domination game. Playing as Blackbeard, Queen Anne's revenge involves the gamer performing an acrobatic kill and a gun kill in less than 10 seconds. Preemptive Strike uses the Orchid character. In this mode, the gamer must block 10 abilities of the opponents using Sabotage. The last trophy, Elevator to the Gallows, can involve any player. To get this trophy, an opponent must be defeated using a lift that has been trapped with a booby Trap.

Game developers, Ubisoft have been polling its dedicated Assassin's Creed fans on the direction of the franchise and a possible pirates spinoff.

"As in previous years, Ubisoft takes these surveys seriously to help us gauge which direction they'd like to see future Assassin's Creed games head. And you know how much we love reading Abstergo market analysis reports," said Ubisoft to IGN.

The gaming company is looking to know whether new game Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's pirates elements would make for a good spinoff franchise of its own. Ubisoft is looking to see if the "pirate" with no "assassin" portion is good for the series.

Black Flag also just got its own mobile spin-off on iOS and Android on Dec. 5 with Assassin's Creed Pirates.

The game is available for $4.99 on both platforms, as the game focuses on what Ubisoft describes as "brutal naval combat," according to Kotaku.

Ubisoft recently spoke about how proud of they of the game and the series.

"We are very proud of the PC version of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag," said Sylvain Trottier, the Associate Producer of the game on Ubisoft's blog. "The game runs well on low-end PCs, and lots of additional features were added for higher-end machines, allowing each and every customer to fully enjoy the experience on their PCs. Our partnership with Nvidia that saw our respective engineering teams work together to develop a highly optimized PC version also demonstrates our commitment to the platform."

The PC version of the game launched on the 19th in the U.S. and in Europe on the 22nd. The game previously launched for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on Oct. 29.
