Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag DLC 'Freedom Cry' to Arrive Dec. 17, PC and Wii U Date Uncertain
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's new Freedom Cry DLC will be arriving on Dec. 17 according to a game advertisement.
The DLC will be for the singleplayer version of the game as the ad was revealed by Ubisoft in Game Informer Magazine.
Freedom Cry will feature a roughly four hour campaign featuring the character Adewale, and will launch on PlayStation 3 and 4 and Xbox 360 and One on the same day, reported Polygon. It is uncertain if and when the DLC will come to the Windows PC and Wii U.
Another upcoming DLC for the game is Blackbeard's Wrath, which as of now is rumored to only be for the PS3. The expansion pack gives players the option of three different characters in multiplayer with Blackbeard being one of them. The other two are The Jaguar and The Orchid.
There is no price or release date for this DLC yet, but there is information regarding the rewards system.
There are four trophies as well. Sacred Land has to be completed with The Jaguar, and they must be the highest scoring player in a Domination game. Playing as Blackbeard, Queen Anne's revenge involves the gamer performing an acrobatic kill and a gun kill in less than 10 seconds. Preemptive Strike uses the Orchid character. In this mode, the gamer must block 10 abilities of the opponents using Sabotage. The last trophy, Elevator to the Gallows, can involve any player. To get this trophy, an opponent must be defeated using a lift that has been trapped with a booby trap.
Tomorrow Assassin's Creed 4 will be getting its own mobile spinoff on iOS and Android, Assassin's Creed Pirates. The game will sell for $4.99 on both platforms, as the game will focus on what Ubisoft describes as "brutal naval combat," according to Kotaku.
The console version of the game focuses on the character Edward Kenway while the lead of the upcoming mobile game is Alonzo Batilla.
The game was officially announced in September to be the companion to further push along the main console story.
The PC version of the game launched on the 19th in the U.S. and in Europe on the 22nd. The game previously launched for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on Oct. 29.
